Rosselkhoznadzor introduces restrictions on the supply of pork gelatin from the European Union

Thus, in 2024 , according to OIE data, 2,956  ASF outbreaks were recorded in the EU . In July alone, 218 outbreaks were registered in 8 EU countries. However, the European side does not provide information to ROSSELKHOZNADZOR about the epizootic situation and measures to combat ASF.

At the same time, the Service does not have information on control over the safety of pork gelatin production at EU enterprises, and the negative experience of previously conducted inspections of companies producing livestock products has already shown non-compliance of European goods with the veterinary and sanitary requirements of the Eurasian Economic Union, including compliance with the temperature regime at heat treatment of products.

In this regard, Rosselkhoznadzor, from August 2, 2024, as a precaution, is introducing temporary restrictions on the supply of pork gelatin from EU countries. The main suppliers of products are Italy , Poland , Germany and Belgium.
