Rosselkhoznadzor and the competent authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina discussed issues of mutual supplies of livestock and plant products

On April 4, Rosselkhoznadzor held talks in Moscow with the Veterinary Department and the Plant Protection Administration of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina on mutual deliveries of various types of agricultural products.

The agencies agreed to work on the issue of shipments of Russian pork, poultry and finished products to the Balkan state. Rosselkhoznadzor requested a list of requirements for the export of these types of goods from its foreign colleagues.

The Bosnian side, in turn, noted its interest in deliveries of dairy, fish and finished products to the Russian market. The Service expressed its readiness to send a list of current regulatory requirements of Russia and the EAEU regarding the listed products so that Bosnia and Herzegovina can conduct inspections of potential suppliers.

Representatives of the agencies outlined further steps of cooperation, agreed to exchange veterinary certificates in the near future and coordinate them, as well as prepare a list of enterprises that meet the requirements of the parties. Russia and Bosnia and Herzegovina agreed to return to the topic of mutual trade within the framework of the general session of the World Organization for Animal Health, which will be held in Paris at the end of May.

Also, the Plant Protection Administration of the competent Bosnian ministry raised the issue of resuming pear supplies to Russia, which were suspended after the discovery of a quarantine object - brown marmorated stink bugs - in consignments of goods in 2022.

Foreign colleagues announced the adoption of the necessary measures to eliminate the pest and invited Russian specialists to check the fulfillment of requirements during a personal visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The parties agreed to return to the topic of a possible resumption of Bosnian pear exports to Russia within the framework of technical consultations.
