Rospotrebnadzor assures that the threat of an anthrax outbreak in Russia is minimal.

Two cases of infection have been reported in Thailand, one of which was fatal. All individuals who had contact with infected animals or consumed their MEAT are under medical observation.

It's important to note that anthrax is not transmitted from person to person; infection occurs only through contact with infected animals or their products. To protect the country from the spread of the disease, sanitary and quarantine measures have been strengthened at the border, using the automated "Perimeter" system, which allows for the rapid identification and prevention of potential threats.

Rospotrebnadzor also reminds people to take precautions: avoid purchasing meat from unverified markets and immediately report any suspicious animal diseases to veterinary authorities. Anthrax is a dangerous infection that can persist in soil for a long time as spores.
