Market of egg melange in Russia: some trends

The volume of egg melange production in RUSSIA in 2022, according to Rosstat, amounted to 53,671 tons, which is 7.0% (3,507 tons) more than in 2021. For 2 years, the indicators increased by 13.9% (by 6,555 tons).

In January 2023, compared to the same month in 2022, the volumes, according to the calculations of AB-Center, increased by 1.5% (by 67 tons) and amounted to 4,433 tons.

Wholesale prices for egg melange in Russia

Wholesale prices (producer prices) for egg products (mélange) in Russia in January 2023, according to Rosstat, amounted to 111,527 RUB/t without VAT. This is 1.1% less than in December 2022. Over the year, prices, according to AB-Center, decreased by 20.7%.

The weakening of prices for egg melange was facilitated by the growth of its production volumes. In addition, over the past year, prices for chicken eggs have also weakened somewhat. In the wholesale segment in January 2023, compared to a year ago, they decreased by 5.2%.
