Rosstat also reported that in December agricultural organizations produced 1.172 million tons of livestock and poultry for slaughter (6.6% more than a year earlier). Including the production of cattle increased by 4.8%, up to 116 thousand tons, pigs - by 2.6%, up to 457.9 thousand tons, poultry - by 10%, up to 578.3 thousand tons. Rosstat also reported that at the end of December 2021, the number of cattle in farms of all categories, according to calculations, was 17.7 million heads (2% less), of which 7.7 million cows (1.9% less) . The number of pigs - 26.2 million heads (1.5% more), sheep and goats - 20.9 million heads (3.3% less), poultry - 536.9 million tons (3.3% more) .
In the structure of livestock, households accounted for 38.6% of cattle, 7.7% of pigs, 46% of sheep and goats (at the end of December 2020, these figures were respectively 39.3%, 8.6%, 46, five%).
In agricultural organizations, at the end of December 2021, compared with the corresponding period of 2020, the number of cattle decreased by 1.8%, cows - by 1.4%, sheep and goats - by 5.4%. At the same time, the number of pigs increased by 2.7%, poultry - by 4.6%.
