According to Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Angara region Vladimir Chitorkin, an action plan has been developed to prevent further spread of the disease, the situation is under control. Vaccination of susceptible animals is currently underway . About 1 thousand heads of cattle and more than 700 heads of small cattle in the Usolsky and Cheremkhovo districts have already been vaccinated for preventive purposes.

Let us remind you that contagious nodular dermatitis is a transmissible contagious viral disease of cattle . it manifests itself as fever with an increase in body temperature to 40°C, the formation of nodular seals, erosions on the skin and mucous membranes. This disease does not pose a danger to people.

Currently, the authorized bodies are finding out where the pathogen was introduced into the territory of the Irkutsk region. Presumably, the reason was the unauthorized import of farm animals from another region, without execution of accompanying veterinary documents confirming epizootic welfare.

“We draw the attention of managers of agricultural enterprises and the population to the need to purchase animals only if they have veterinary accompanying documents confirming their HEALTH , and also warn about the danger of purchasing products of animal origin in unidentified places without conducting a veterinary and sanitary examination,” emphasized Vladimir Chitorkin.
