According to local newspaper Al Ahdath Al Maghribia, farmers attribute the jump in chicken prices to the sharp increase in feed prices. In recent months, feed costs have increased significantly on the world market, which in turn has put pressure on the prices of the final product. The Professional Federation of the Poultry Sector of Morocco emphasizes that this phenomenon is a consequence of global logistical problems, including the crisis in the Red Sea, which has made it difficult to deliver the necessary resources.

The Moroccan Poultry Association also noted that the increase in feed prices deprives local producers of financial resources, making the future of the sector uncertain. The country produces about 600,000 tons of poultry MEAT per year, of which 500,000 tons are broilers and 100,000 tons areturkey . However, with current prices and economic conditions, many poultry farmers are on the verge of bankruptcy.

Since chicken meat is one of the main sources of protein for Moroccan households, the rise in prices is causing serious concerns among citizens. Many families are forced to review their budgets and reduce their food expenses . This can lead to a deterioration in the quality of nutrition, especially among the most vulnerable segments of the population.

According to data published by various studies, food inflation in Morocco continues to rise, which further aggravates the situation. The limited purchasing power of the population makes it particularly vulnerable to price fluctuations for basic foods .

Given the current trends, experts warn that the rise in chicken meat prices may continue. Poultry farmers are worried about the future of their industry, as high feed prices may force them to reduce production. This, in turn, may lead to a shortage of chicken meat on the market and further price increases.

The Moroccan government should pay attention to this situation in order to prevent possible social and economic consequences. It may be necessary to introduce feed subsidies or other support measures for local farmers to stabilize prices and ensure food availability for the population.
