The head of the National Association of Turkey Producers, Anatoly Velmatov, emphasizes that the industry strives to ensure that the share of Russian turkey production is at least 10% in the poultry sector. An important step in this direction is the increase in the production of hatching eggs, which this year will make it possible to replace 50% of the need for them. This is a significant achievement, given that only seven years ago, all breeding material was imported.

Projects that are already in the implementation stage and those that are just beginning will allow Russian poultry farmers to increase the share of domestic production to 70% by 2025-2026. This is a very encouraging forecast that supports the development of the industry and strengthens its position in the market.

According to the presentation prepared by the association, a realistic forecast for 2024 assumes an increase in turkey meat production to 450 thousand tons, and by 2025 - to 500 thousand tons. Longer-term forecasts indicate the possibility of reaching a level of 690 thousand tons by 2030. At the same time, the demand for hatching eggs will also grow, an increase is predicted from 53.9 million pieces in 2024 to 83.1 million pieces in 2030.

The development of domestic turkey production is of great importance for the economy and food security of Russia. An increase in the share of domestic production in the poultry sector not only reduces dependence on imports, but also creates new jobs and promotes rural development. Poultry farmers strive to achieve their goals and continue to invest in the development of the industry, which promises a bright future for Russian turkey meat production.
