The recent meeting between the Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut and the Governor of Perm Krai Dmitry Makhonin was an important step towards further development of the region's agro-industrial complex (AIC). The discussion of funding in the amount of 1.3 billion rubles from the federal budget underlines the serious approach of the authorities to supporting agriculture and its key sectors.

Main areas of agricultural production

Perm Krai, with its diverse climatic and natural conditions, is actively developing crop production, which is one of the key sectors of the region's agriculture. In particular, the emphasis is on the production of grain crops, potatoes and vegetables. More than half of the region's sown area is occupied by forage crops, which indicates the significant role of livestock farming in the agricultural economy.

The harvesting campaign in Perm Krai will begin in the second ten days of August, and positive dynamics in production are already being observed. Last year, the volume of vegetable oil production doubled, and cheese production increased by 80%. This indicates that the region's enterprises are actively working to improve the quality and volume of their products.

Investment support and government support

Government support plays a key role in the development of agribusiness. This year, more than 1.3 billion rubles

have been allocated for the development of the agro-industrial complex of the Perm Territory, which is in line with last year's level. Oksana Lut emphasized the importance of effective interaction with both existing agricultural producers and potential investors who are ready to implement new projects in the region. Governor Makhonin emphasized that the Perm Territory pays special attention to supporting investment activity. In particular, up to 30% of capital expenditures on the construction of dairy farms, as well as poultry and pig farms, are subsidized at the expense of the region. This creates favorable conditions for attracting new investments and developing modern agricultural technologies.

Prospects and new projects

Taking into account current trends and government support, the agro-industrial complex of the Perm Territory has every chance of further development. In 2024 , an increase in the production of canned fruits and vegetables, cereals, confectionery, cheese, vegetable oils, FLOUR and semi-finished MEAT products is expected. This means that enterprises not only increase production volumes, but also diversify their product range, which is important for meeting the needs of the local population and expanding sales markets.

In addition, active interaction with investors can lead to the emergence of new technologies and methods of farming, which in turn will increase the competitiveness of Perm Krai products in the Russian and international markets.
