Locally produced chicken products appeared on the shelves of seven branded retail stores in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk on Monday, March 4. Three more will begin selling broiler MEAT on March 6, and by March 11 another eight will begin selling, including in other areas of Sakhalin.
Sales were suspended in the first ten days of February due to an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza at the egg production of Ostrovnaya Poultry Farm JSC. it subsequently turned out that the broiler shop was not infected. The quarantine was lifted on February 16.
The outbreak in the food egg shop has been eliminated, but quarantine restrictions continue to apply. The delivery of young animals to form a new herd is expected in the spring. Eggs on the island territories come from the mainland.
