
"The volume of agricultural production by all agricultural producers (agricultural organizations, peasant (farm) households, and household farms) in May 2024 in current prices, according to preliminary estimates, amounted to 530 billion rubles, and in January-May 2024 – 1,995.1 billion rubles," the statistics agency clarified.
A year earlier, the growth rate was comparable: in May 2023, the volume of agricultural production increased year-on-year by 2.9%, and compared to the previous month (April 2023) by 10%.
Sales volumes have increased: in the first five months of 2024, compared to the same period of the previous year, sales of the main types of agricultural products, except for eggs, increased.
During this period, a total of 28.4 million tonnes of grain (up 9.5% year-on-year), 5.7 million tonnes of livestock and poultry (up 3.5%), 8.5 million tonnes of MILK (up 4.2%), and 13.8 billion eggs (down 3.7% compared to the same period last year) were sold across all channels. Grain sales in May totaled 5.6 million tonnes (up 3.1%), livestock and poultry sales increased 2.7% to 1.2 million tonnes, milk sales increased 3.5% to 1.8 million tonnes, and eggs sales fell 4.7% to 2.8 billion.
