Pork production in the Irkutsk region grew by 25% year-on-year

The industrial herd of pigs in the Angara region has increased by 700 heads since the beginning of the year. According to the Minister of Agriculture of the Irkutsk Region, Ilya Sumarokov, the positive dynamics in the industry is due to the introduction of the method of crossing pigs, strict adherence to technological discipline and the transition to a balanced, scientifically based diet when feeding animals.

The HEAD of the department specified that currently the only company in the region that specializes in crossing and breeding breeding pigs of the Large White and Landrace breeds is engaged in industrial pig breeding. A modern livestock complex provides the highest degree of biological protection of animals from zoonoses, including African swine fever.

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Irkutsk Region predicts that in 2023, taking into account the products of private farms, the total volume of pork production in the region will increase by 3.3 thousand tons year-on-year - up to 44 thousand tons in live weight.
