Livestock and poultry production in Russia increased by 3.4% over 8 months

Including cattle, 701.1 thousand tons were produced in January-August, which is 7% higher than last year. Pig production increased by 5.9%, to 3.639 million tons, sheep and goat production - by 22.1%, to 16.9 thousand tons, poultry production - by 0.7%, to 4.3 million tons.

According to the department, gross MILK yield for eight months amounted to 13.476 million tons, which is 5.8% higher than a year earlier.

Egg production in RUSSIA in January-August increased by 3.1% and reached 25.463 billion pieces.

The number of cattle in agricultural organizations at the end of August 2023 amounted to 7.988 million heads, which is 1.1% less than the same date last year, including 3.177 million cows, which is also 1.1% less than a year earlier.
