Meat production in the Rostov region has decreased by 5%.

Key indicators of the decline:

• Large agricultural enterprises reduced production by 3% (to 91.9 thousand tons).

• Farms showed a more significant decline – 6.7% (14.1 thousand tons).

Dynamics by types of meat:

At the beginning of the year (January-February), the decline was even sharper – 15%. During this period:

• Beef  - 20% reduction.

• Pork  – 22% decrease.

• Poultry MEAT – reduction by 12%.

Experts note a negative trend in the region's livestock industry, which could lead to a shortage of local produce on the market. At the same time, residents are increasing their food expenses, putting additional pressure on prices .

Despite the stable operation of the Rostov Nuclear Power Plant, farmers are expressing concern about the industry's future development. The authorities have not yet commented on possible support measures for agricultural producers.
