Meat production in the Belgorod region in the I quarter slightly decreased, milk - increased by 5.2%

In January-March 2023, livestock breeders of the Belgorod Region produced 424.1 thousand tons of MEAT in live weight, which is 0.1% less than in the same period in 2022, Belgorodstat reports.

MILK production in the region for the reporting period increased by 5.2% - up to 149.6 thousand tons, eggs - decreased by 8.2%, up to 344.4 million pieces.

As of April 1, the number of cattle in the region amounted to 184.8 thousand heads (an increase of 2.5%), pigs - 4.6 million (an increase of 7.3%), sheep and goats - 7.6 thousand (decrease by 5.3%), birds - 45.5 million (growth by 2.5%).
