Manufacturers of food products and consumer goods in Russia reduced the size of packages by 7-20%

Manufacturers of everyday goods and products in RUSSIA reduced the size of packaging by up to 20%
 
In addition, the number of buyers in Russia who recalculate the cost of goods per 1 liter or 1 kg has increased, research company GfK reported.
 
"According to GfK Rus, from 2012 to 2018 FMCG producers in Russia reduced the size of their packages by 7-20% depending on the category. At the same time, "hidden" downsizing is most often used while maintaining or slightly reducing the cost," GfK noted.
 
As an example, researchers cited the emergence of containers on the market that differ from the classic litre packaging. Thus, in the category of MILK there are packages with capacity from 920 to 985 ml.
 
At the same time, according to GfK, the number of buyers in Russia who recalculate the cost of goods per 1 kg or 1 liter has increased: from 29% in 2012 to 47% in 2018. At the same time, the share of Russians who from time to time pay attention to the size of packaging in terms of 1 kg or 1 liter (from 17 to 29%) has increased. In addition, there is a growing number of buyers comparing the prices of different brands before making a choice (currently 63%), as well as buyers who are willing to buy an alternative to the usual product (57%).
