Achievements of the agro-industrial complex
Today RUSSIA fully satisfies its needs for basic food products such as grain, MEAT ,fish , vegetable oil and SUGAR . The country not only provides itself with food, but has also become a net exporter of food products since 2020. Russia occupies a leading position in the world market for the EXPORT of wheat, barley, sunflower oil and frozen fish. This indicates a high level of competitiveness of domestic production.
National project "Technological support of food security"
Taking into account the current challenges and tasks facing the agricultural sector, a new national project is being implemented in Russia aimed at technological support of food security. This project includes a number of government support measures that contribute to the development of domestic selection and genetics.
One of the key objectives is to increase self-sufficiency in seeds of all major agricultural crops. The target for 2030 is 75% of seeds of domestic selection, and at the moment this figure has reached 67.6%, which is 5.1% higher than the 2023 level. This indicates positive dynamics and efforts aimed at reducing dependence on seed imports.
Innovations in Animal Husbandry
Animal husbandry is also undergoing significant changes. The introduction of genomic selection tools allows for more accurate prediction of the breeding value of various types of farm animals and poultry. This, in turn, helps to increase productivity and product quality.
One example is the work on adapting the Russian cross of meat chickens "Smena 9", which has improved productivity characteristics. Such innovations in animal selection and genetics will help not only to increase production efficiency, but also to improve the quality of the final product for consumers.
Prospects and Challenges
Despite the successes achieved, the Russian agro-industrial complex faces serious challenges. Sustainable development of agriculture requires the constant introduction of new technologies, advanced training of personnel and improvement of infrastructure. it is also important to take into account environmental aspects and strive for sustainable development in order to preserve natural resources for future generations.
In conclusion, SPIEF-2025 has become a platform for discussing current issues of food security and demonstrating the achievements of the domestic agro-industrial complex. Taking into account all the above factors, it is safe to say that Russia is moving in the right direction, strengthening its food security and position on the international arena.
