Kursk pig farm owned by Miratorg will pay a large fine

The department revealed violations during a scheduled on-site inspection of an enterprise in the village of Nagolnoye, Pristensky district, Kursk region. Rosprirodnadzor inspectors found out that the pig farm did not receive a license for the disposal of pig manure, did not carry out measures agreed with the regional administration to reduce emissions into the atmosphere, and did not establish standards for the generation and disposal of waste.

In addition, IT turned out that Pristensky Pig Complex did not comply with the law when dealing with subsoil. The company did not monitor groundwater in the area of ​​a potential source of pollution, violated the terms of the license for the use of subsoil, and also did not stand on the state. accounting as an object that pollutes the environment.

For the committed violations of the current legislation, the legal entity and officials of LLC "Pig Complex Pristensky" were brought to administrative responsibility, the total amount of the fine was 943 thousand rubles. The company issued an order to eliminate the identified violations.

As a reminder, Pristensky Pig Complex LLC is 100% owned by Miratorg agricultural holding. According to analysts from the National Union of Pig Breeders, in 2020 the holding produced 10.7% of Russian pork and is the leader in this indicator. Miratorg's revenue for 2020 amounted to 139.2 billion rubles.

It is worth noting that the activities of pig farms regularly cause complaints from local residents. So, at the end of August 2021, residents of Ivna (Belogorodskaya Oblast) complained about the strong smell from the pig-breeding complex of Miratorg Belgorod LLC. At a meeting with them, Deputy Governor Yuliy Shchedrina and Director General of Miratorg Belgorod LLC Vladimir Prokhorov promised to tighten control over the application of organic fertilizers and unpleasant odors.

Around the same time, it became known about the withdrawal of the pig farm of the Sibagro holding from the territory of the city of Polevskoy (Sverdlovsk region), also after massive complaints from residents.
