Supplies of agricultural products took second place in the structure of Russian exports to China

According to ROSSELKHOZNADZOR , CHINA became the main buyer of Russian poultry and beef by the end of 2023. This information was presented by Deputy HEAD of the Service Artem Daushev during a round table at the international exhibition Prodexpo-2024, Interfax writes.

Thus, last year China purchased 132.9 thousand tons of poultry MEAT and 21.5 thousand tons of beef from RUSSIA. Iran imported the most lamb - 10.3 thousand tons. The largest buyers of pork were Vietnam (85.1 thousand tons) and Belarus (78.8 thousand tons), Kazakhstan purchased the most finished meat products (48.9 thousand tons). In 2023, 16 countries opened their markets to supplies of 47 types of livestock products from Russia. The growth in supplies was stimulated by the EAEU and CIS states (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan ), Asian countries (China, Vietnam, Mongolia), the Middle East ( Saudi Arabia , UAE) and Africa (Benin, Côte d'Ivoire).

In 2023, the volume of agricultural exports from Russia exceeded $46 billion, which is 12% more than in the previous year, Deputy Head of the Agroexport Center under the Ministry of Agriculture Andrei Kucherov reported on February 6. In 2022, Russia ranked 17th in the world ranking of agricultural exporters. He noted that although the data for 2023 has not yet been fully confirmed, it can be assumed that our country continues to improve its position in the global agricultural market. Kucherov added that last year, Russian agricultural products were supplied to 150 countries, with the main emphasis on friendly states, their share was 87%, which is 20% more than before. Exports to China increased by more than 50%, to India - by 46%, to Egypt  - by 13%, to Pakistan - by 40%, to Indonesia - six times, and to Mexico - three times.
