The first outbreak of ASF since the beginning of the year was recorded in the Volgograd region

The first outbreak in the region since the beginning of the year occurred in a personal subsidiary plot. The cause of the death of the animal became known on Monday, March 6: in a laboratory study of samples of pathological material, DNA of the African swine fever virus was detected.

Now in Lugovoe, veterinary services are carrying out a set of measures to localize the outbreak and prevent further spread of the ASF pathogen and determine the area of ​​quarantine and surveillance zones. All pigs will be confiscated from local residents, followed by payment of compensation.
