The Penza region is the leader in the Volga Federal District in the production of livestock and poultry for slaughter

In 2020, large agricultural organizations in the region produced 387.3 thousand tons of livestock and poultry for slaughter, the Ministry of Agro-Industrial Complex of the region reported.

According to this indicator, the region was ahead of all the subjects of the Volga Federal District and took 8th place in Russia. The first place in the Volga Federal District and the third in the country were provided by large agricultural organizations in poultry production, which produced 320.4 thousand tons last year. Also, Penza agricultural organizations took 4th place in the Volga Federal District for the production of pork meat, last year the figure was 61.6 thousand tons.

According to the agency, more than 40 agricultural enterprises are engaged in the breeding of meat cattle in the region. Basically, these are newly created peasant farms. Among the successful agricultural enterprises engaged in the breeding of meat cattle, LLC Kamnaturprodukt, KFH Ruzikula Khasanova and KFH Sofia Khasanshina are noted.

The production of livestock and poultry for slaughter in live weight in all categories of farms in the region in 2016 amounted to 282.2 thousand tons, in 2019 - 389.6 thousand tons, in 2020 - 430.1 thousand tons.

- The Penza region is a region demonstrating a positive trend in meat production, - says the official response of PioneerProduct LLC . - The livestock industry is supported as part of the reimbursement of part of the costs of supporting their own milk production, part of the costs to agricultural producers for the payment of the insurance premium accrued under the agricultural insurance contract in the livestock sector, as part of subsidies to support livestock breeding. The industry is supported within the framework of grant support for the development of family farms and the Agroprogress grant, a grant for the development of the material and technical base of agricultural consumer cooperatives, and the Agrostartup grant.

Also, farmers are provided with subsidies to reimburse part of the costs per head of the increase in the number of dairy cows, subsidies to support agricultural cooperatives.

In addition, agricultural producers can take advantage of preferential short-term and investment lending. Farmers are provided with subsidies for the development of dairy cattle breeding, production of edible eggs, beef cattle breeding, reimbursement of part of the costs of purchasing equipment for the production, slaughter and processing of poultry meat.

When asked how the environmental initiative of dairy enterprises, cooperatives, etc. is supported in the regions, the regional Ministry of Agro-Industrial Complex answered as follows:

- Special attention is paid to this problem at modern complexes and all necessary measures are taken to ensure ecological production. Violations in this part are supervised by authorized bodies. To fulfill the tasks of biosafety and environmental friendliness of production, regional subsidies are provided to reimburse part of the costs of purchasing equipment, machines and mechanisms for dairy and beef cattle breeding.
