This decline is mainly due to a decrease in the supply of livestock for slaughter, which has an impact on the local livestock industry, which plays a crucial role in the supply of raw materials to slaughterhouses. However, despite the general downward trend in production, Poland stood out for its growth in beef exports.
For the period from January to August 2023, the annual dynamics of unprocessed beef exports from Poland amounted to 10%. This increase may be due to the redirection of part of the MEAT from domestic sales to the EXPORT channel, which led to an increase in export revenues of Polish producers.
Among the factors contributing to the growth of beef exports from Poland, we can highlight:
- high quality of Polish beef, known in foreign markets;
- competitive prices allowing Polish producers to compete successfully on the international market;
- increased demand for beef in some countries, including Asia and the Middle East.
The increase in beef exports from Poland is a positive signal for the Polish economy and agriculture. it demonstrates the ability of Polish producers to adapt to changing market conditions and find new opportunities to market their products.
However, it should be noted that a decrease in beef production in the EU may lead to an increase in beef prices in importing countries, including RUSSIA. It is therefore important that the governments of these countries monitor the market situation and take the necessary measures to ensure the availability of beef for their citizens.
