Residues of antibiotics and an excess of the mass fraction of water were found in the meat of broiler chickens

According to the test protocol, residual amounts of antibiotics and other antimicrobial chemotherapeutic substances were found in poultry MEAT, which may indicate a violation by the manufacturer of the terms for slaughtering chickens after using antibiotics for the treatment of poultry.

Experts remind that eating meat with antibiotics can cause an allergic reaction and lead to a decrease in sensitivity to the action of drugs.

In addition, an excess of the mass fraction of water was found in the products: at a standard of 4.0%, the test result is 6.6%.

Typically, this means that poultry meat is pumped with water and moisture-retaining components before being sold to add weight. The cost price and, as a result, the price of the product naturally depend on the amount of this water.

it should be noted that from January 1, 2023, a new technical regulation “On the safety of poultry meat and products of its processing” came into force on the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The regulation establishes a standard value for controlling the mass fraction of moisture released during storage of chilled poultry meat.

In this regard, detection according to this standard was established by the laboratory for the first time.

The products were recognized as not meeting the requirements of the technical regulations “On the safety of meat and products of its processing”, “On the safety of food products” and GOST “Chicken meat. Specifications".

After receiving the results of the research, information about the detections was entered into the automated system (AS) in the field of veterinary medicine "Vesta". Further, the information was sent by urgent reports to the Central Office and territorial departments of the ROSSELKHOZNADZOR , the veterinary departments of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and other departments.

The information was communicated to the owner of the product to prevent its use and take measures to withdraw it from circulation.
