About 100 companies took part in a business mission with Singapore

On July 16, the business mission of Russian companies exporting agricultural products with the Republic of Singapore, organized by the Federal Center Agroexport together with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Singapore and the state agency Enterprise Singapore, ended.

Within five days, 5 group industry meetings and more than 120 individual b2b negotiations between Russian exporters interested in food supplies to Singapore and Singaporean importers, traders, retail chains and distributors took place on the virtual platform of Agroexport. In total, about 100 organizations of the two countries took part in the mission.

During multilateral meetings, Russian manufacturers told Singaporean importers about their experience in foreign markets, including Southeast Asia, presented their EXPORT portfolio, possible methods and volumes of supplies. As part of bilateral b2b negotiations, the companies were able to discuss in detail the potential for cooperation, product line, logistics, packaging and many other issues.

“Thank you for inviting our company to participate in the mission, which was a good opportunity to establish direct contacts with Russian manufacturers. A number of agreements have already been reached, on the basis of which we will develop further relations with colleagues from RUSSIA. Now I intend to visit Russia to expand and strengthen our business communications,” said Sanka Nanayakkara, DIRECTOR of the Singaporean Centuria International.

“Meetings with leading Russian companies were useful and productive. I am in the business of importing and distributing extended shelf life MILK, UHT milk, whipped cream and mozzarella cheese. Russian milk producers are studying the prospects of their products in our market, and I am sure that with proper promotion they will succeed. I am grateful for the organizational and content quality of the meetings and the clear coordination of work, thanks to which we have new very promising business contacts,” said Director Shin Jin Pte. Ltd Patrick Lim.

“Singapore is of great importance for the export activity of Yug Rusi Group both as an independent highly developed market and as a key trading hub for the whole of East Asia. Enterprises of Yug Rusi Group of Companies have been successfully working with Singapore partners for more than 10 years and plan to significantly expand cooperation. The business mission to Singapore organized with the support of Agroexport is the most effective tool for sustainable building up cooperation with local and multinational companies. Only with the participation of our official representatives during the mission, more than a dozen meetings were held, which seems to be a significant foundation for further interaction in various areas. In general, this business mission can be characterized as an undoubted success in expanding international cooperation of Russian agribusiness”,

“We are very positive about the preliminary results of the mission. В2b-meetings of "Tambov Bacon" with Singaporean companies turned out to be very effective, because now we are talking about real cooperation, and in the very near future. We have already managed to exchange experience and knowledge based on the best practices in the field of international supplies of pig products. The Singapore side expressed interest in expanding the network of suppliers and including Russian manufacturers in it, so we paid special attention to discussing issues of biosafety and product quality. It is too early to sum up the final results of the business mission, because intensive communication continues. I am sure that we will continue to work out ways of cooperation together,” Ivan Mitrofanov, HEAD of the Far Abroad FEA department of Tambov Bacon LLC, emphasized.

“This business mission is one of the largest in the history of business relations between Russia and Singapore. The next two weeks in my schedule are already busy with meetings with Singaporean companies that are interested in further negotiations with Russian manufacturers, - says Alexander Svinin, Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in Singapore. - I think this is the best indicator of the past event. Thanks again to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Agroexport, our partners in the Government of Singapore for organizing the mission.”

“Singapore is not only an interesting market for Russian exporters of agricultural products, but also the most important trading hub for the whole of Southeast Asia. A developed and transparent business ecosystem, strong domestic demand, and proximity to the largest ASEAN markets make Singapore one of the most promising areas for the development of food exports. I am sure that the past mission gave Russian companies an opportunity to get to know the specifics of this market better, as well as to find new contacts that will develop into long-term mutually beneficial cooperation,” said Dmitry Krasnov, head of Agroexport.
