The real event of the year for the meat processing industry of Stavropol was the recent opening at the Novoaleksandrovsky Meat Processing Plant of a large modern complex with a logistics center equipped with the latest technology. In the light of recent events in our country, they immediately set a course for import substitution and ensuring food security.
Occupy the sausage niche in the South of Russia The
meat processing plant, which, by the way, recently celebrated its 25th anniversary, is one of the city-forming enterprises of the Novoaleksandrovsky urban district and the leaders in the region. A quarter of a century ago, it all started with a slaughterhouse. Gradually, the enterprise grew with new areas, acquired processing equipment, cars, and was building shops: canning, semi-finished, fodder additives. Currently, more than 200 types of products are produced here: sausages, semi-finished products, delicacies and canned food.
The launch of a new production site opens up great prospects for the meat processing plant to increase production volumes, increase the competitiveness of products, and strengthen the industry niche in the North Caucasus region. The new modern complex now makes it possible to increase the volumes by several times - up to ten thousand tons of products per year, the workforce has grown one and a half times, today more than five hundred people work here. The structure of the complex includes, among other things, a single logistics center. A modern food safety management system has been introduced in the workshops, which provides control at all stages of the production process, as well as storage and sale.
“This investment project for the construction of a meat processing complex and a logistics center was implemented thanks to the support of the government of the Stavropol Territory and together with the Russian Agricultural Bank,” said Vladimir Shapovalov, financial director of the meat processing plant. - We were given a preferential investment loan. Due to this, the construction work itself was carried out, the latest equipment was purchased that meets all modern requirements. The creation of production of such a level is a new step in strengthening the food security of our region and our country.
"Test drive" for gourmets
The enterprise is equipped with both Russian equipment and imported equipment from Germany, Austria, France, Italy and other countries. Taking into account the realities of the current situation, the necessary stock of spare parts for them has been formed. In addition, foreign suppliers have not yet left Russia, representatives of these firms are present in Russia.
So, in the conditions of sanctions, the stability of the work of the Novoaleksandrovsky Meat Processing Plant is not in danger, they assured at the enterprise. Moreover, production volumes are being expanded here, including the line of import-substituting products.
“We have already produced such sausages as Austrian cervelat, Viennese salami and others, which are well understood by our customers,” says Alexander Krasyukov, chief technologist. We are constantly working on the development of new types of products. The very process of making sausages, developing a recipe is a labor-intensive work. First, raw materials, spices are selected, a trial batch is made, which is expected by an extended tasting. Someone makes their comments, and taking into account all the wishes received from the people's "gourmet" tasters, the team of technologists finally develops a new type of product.
Sometimes it takes more than a year to bring a new product to market. But the specialists of the enterprise are in no hurry. The technology is honed to the smallest detail, and only when the result fully satisfies the tastes of consumers based on the results of testing and tasting, the products are put into mass production. It is not enough to develop and launch, it is also necessary to carefully comply with the strict requirements of GOSTs. This is a guarantee of high quality, the chief technologist is convinced.
Stew helps fight ... fire
The increase in production volumes at the meat processing plant is facilitated by the development of a network of branded stores. About fifty such outlets are open both in the Stavropol Territory and in the Krasnodar Territory, including Sochi. Recently, the Novoaleksandrovsk manufacturer has significantly expanded the geography of supplies of its products. And recently, the Krasnoyarsk Territory has been added to them.
The enterprise, in particular, supplies its canned meat for forest fire protection workers, who these days put out strong fires in forests and adjacent settlements. As they joke at the plant, this is also a strategic product: the stew is a good support for the Krasnoyarsk foresters and firefighters, gives strength in the fight against the natural elements.
Window of opportunity for livestock farmers
The peculiarity of the new production site of the meat processing plant is that it is designed for domestic suppliers of raw materials. It is also provided by the Stavropol agrarians, however, not to the extent that Novoaleksandrovtsy would like. So we have to import meat from the Voronezh, Belgorod regions, Krasnodar Territory and other regions of the country.
The meat processing plant is convinced that the new production complex opens a window of opportunity for regional agricultural producers and, in general, for animal husbandry. Recently, there has been a good trend in the production of poultry and pork in the region, there is potential for beef and mutton. The next step is growth in the processing industry. And it is precisely in this work that the Novoaleksandrovsky Meat Processing Plant is participating today.
Meat investments
In the context of sanctions, investor interest in the food industry is growing, emphasize the committee of the UK on the food and processing industry, trade and licensing. Last year, 16 investment projects in this area were implemented in the Stavropol Territory. Seven enterprises were created from scratch, nine enterprises were modernized. This year, almost 22 billion rubles will be attracted to the food industry and trade in the region, the department predicts. This is a third more than last year. More than 30 large investment projects are planned, including those in meat processing.
- Investors decided to implement 24 major investment projects in the food and processing industry and ten in trade and public catering, - stressed Committee Chairman Denis Polyubin. “About 6,000 jobs will be created. Investors are supported at the regional level. For example, this is the provision of a subsidy to the municipality for the construction of an access road, reimbursement of costs for infrastructure facilities, and the provision of land plots without bidding. All this, of course, plays a big role in attracting investments to the region. By the way, according to the results of last year, the meat industry became the most demanded for investment: five investment projects worth 4.7 billion rubles were implemented. Supposed, that thanks to these projects, the volume of meat production per year will increase by 35,000 tons. In today's situation, it is very important to ensure the stability of regional enterprises - from small to large manufacturers.
