This veterinary drug was developed by specialists based on virus strains relevant to the region. In 2025, a team of scientists from the institute visited Vietnam to study foot-and-mouth disease virus isolates, which enabled them to identify two genetic lineages of the virus used in the vaccine. The studies confirmed the drug's efficacy in vulnerable animals on Vietnamese farms, demonstrating a high level of protection against the disease. Importantly, foot-and- mouth disease virus serotype O is widespread in Asia, Africa, and South America. Currently, the All-Russian Research Institute of Animal Health offers foot-and-mouth disease vaccines for 10 different genotypes relevant to numerous regions, including South, East, and Central Asia, as well as the Middle East and Africa, and is ready to supply its products worldwide.
