New tax on livestock breeding: VAT rate will be 10% from 2025

Previously, a zero VAT rate was in effect for the sale and import of breeding animals, poultry and fish, as well as their semen and embryos. The new law was signed by President Vladimir Putin at the end of October this year and is aimed at implementing changes in the tax system. The resolution specifies the codes for various types of breeding livestock and products that will be subject to this tax rate.
