At the end of 2023, the farms of Chuvashia produced 118.7 thousand tons of livestock and poultry in live weight, which is an increase of 1.3% compared to the previous year.

The amount of MILK produced for the year amounted to 478.1 thousand tons - this is a plus of 2.7% compared to 2022 figures. The average milk yield per cow also increased, reaching 7,430 kg (+6.3%).

At the same time, the number of cattle in the region’s farms remained almost unchanged, remaining at the level of 197.2 thousand heads, including 86.6 thousand cows.

However, there has been a decline in chicken egg production .

“This is due to the temporary cessation of work at the Kanash poultry farm . Now there is a new investor working here who is increasing its pace. The first batch of chicks has already grown noticeably and has been safely transplanted into adult poultry houses. The second batch of chicks – 95,000 birds – is expected at the end of February,” said the Deputy Prime Minister,Minister of Agriculture of Chuvashia Sergei Artamonov.

In total, 351.9 million chicken eggs were produced in the region during the year. Despite the fact that this figure has become 2.1% less than the production level in 2022, republican poultry farmers continue to provide the region with the product in the required quantity for consumers.
