New poultry farm in Primorye: a step towards regional independence

A new poultry farm will open in Primorye in the near future , capable of producing 17.6 million chicken eggs per year. This is an important step for the region, which aims to become independent from other regions in poultry and egg production. The poultry farm will be located in the village of Strugovka, Oktyabrsky district of Primorye, and in addition to egg production, it will also offer chicken MEAT .

According to the general DIRECTOR of the Selskoe company, Andrei Zapotochny, the company has already purchased premises and purchased 40 thousand chickens. The poultry farm is expected to begin operations before June 2024 . The project received support from the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (KRDV), and as part of the agreement, 38 million rubles will be allocated for its implementation. The creation of a new enterprise will create 113 jobs.

However, in addition to the economic benefits, this project has another important significance for the region. According to government data, by the beginning of 2024, Primorye was only 53% self-sufficient in chicken eggs. This means that the region was dependent on the import of eggs from other places. The rise in prices for chicken eggs in recent years has also become a serious problem. Prices continued to rise in 2023 , with a particularly large jump in the fall. According to Rosstat, since the beginning of the year, egg prices have increased by 46.18%.

Opening a new poultry farm will help overcome these problems. Producing eggs locally will allow the region to become 50% independent of other regions in this industry. This is an important step towards ensuring food security and agricultural development in Primorye.

The Selskoe company will also receive benefits as a resident of the free port of Vladivostok. This includes a 5% income tax for five years (0% to the federal budget and no more than 5% to the regional budget), as well as an exemption from land and property taxes for five years, and then a reduction in the rate to 0.5 % over the next five years.

The opening of a new poultry farm in Primorye promises to be an important step in the development of the regional economy and improving the food security situation. We hope that this will become an example for other regions, showing that the development of agriculture and food production is an important factor in achieving economic stability and independence.
