NMA does not expect large losses from African swine fever in 2024

According to the HEAD of the industry association, Sergei Yushin, today the epizootic situation regarding ASF is more stable than in previous years. In addition, leading pig breeding complexes have gained experience in working under conditions of risk of virus spread - both among agricultural livestock and in wild fauna. The coordinated actions of veterinary services support the country's food security, he noted.

According to Yushin, RUSSIA can train representatives of the pig industry from other countries in maintaining and developing business in the face of the threat of ASF. Every year, large enterprises spend billions of rubles on improving the biological safety of farms in order to prevent damage from loss of livestock and forced downtime.
