Gentamicin sulfate was discovered at the factory without the required Russian language labeling. This is a clear violation of the law, as all veterinary drugs sold in RUSSIA must have clear and accessible information for consumers. Furthermore, the packaging did not contain the registration certificate number, making it impossible to verify the legality and safety of the drug.
ROSSELKHOZNADZOR specialists also identified numerous violations related to the storage conditions of veterinary drugs. Improper storage conditions can lead to a decrease in the effectiveness of the drugs, posing a risk not only to the HEALTH of birds but also to the entire livestock industry in the region, potentially contributing to the spread of infections.
In response to the identified violations, the company was issued a notice, and information about the situation was recorded and forwarded to law enforcement agencies. An investigation is currently underway against the vaccine supplier, who is also expected to be involved in the distribution of counterfeit products.
This incident once again highlights the importance of strict quality control of veterinary drugs. Raising awareness among producers and consumers about the risks associated with the use of uncertified drugs is becoming critical. In the context of globalization and increasing import volumes, such incidents may become more frequent unless sufficient measures are taken to improve control.
