About 300 farms in Stavropol will receive grants to support livestock in 2021

The authorities of the Stavropol Territory will allocate more than 560 million rubles for livestock farming grants in 2021 for 300 farms, Governor Vladimir Vladimirov said.

“Thanks to the support of the federal center, the Stavropol Territory is allocating 568 million rubles in grants this year for the development of animal husbandry. This is about 300 farms that we can help,” the governor said at the opening of the XXI Russian exhibition of breeding sheep and goats in Mineralnye Vody.

He also emphasized the importance for the development of the industry of the major investment project "Damate", which the company is implementing in the Stavropol Territory and the neighboring Karachevo-Cherkess Republic. Within its framework, it is planned to create the largest lamb production in the country.

"Это крупнейший проект, который способствует приходу на Северный Кавказ самых передовых мировых технологий и практик овцеводческой отрасли. И мы это поддерживаем", — подчеркнул он.

В выставке, которая продлится до 21 мая, в этом году принимает участие 21 регион страны. Ставропольский край представлен 13 сельскохозяйственными организациями. По данным пресс-службы главы региона, по состоянию на начало года численность поголовья овец и коз во всех категориях хозяйств в крае составила 1,45 млн голов, 1 млн из которых - маточное поголовье. В регионе 13 племенных овцеводческих предприятий.

Сообщается, что производство баранины в 2020 году составило 27,8 тыс. тонн - на 3 % больше уровня 2019 года, шерсти - 5,3 тыс. тонн.
