Meat market: slight changes in beef and pork prices, rising prices for chicken

The price of beef began to rise after a slight fall last week, increasing by 1.6%. Over the year, its price on the world market has increased by 12.5%. Pork continues to show negative dynamics: slaughter pigs and pork half-carcasses fell in price by 0.7% compared to the previous week.

Meanwhile, the price of chicken increased by 0.4%, and the cost of broilers in CHINA increased by 3.1% due to the approach of the Chinese New Year. In RUSSIA, the cost of pork carcasses fell by 5%.

The overall level of wholesale prices for domestic beef has remained virtually unchanged over the week, but has fallen by 0.4% over the month. Live pig prices in the Central Region are rising, while prices for pork half-carcasses continue to fall. Meanwhile, the cost of chicken resumed its growth, increasing by 0.6% over the week, with the largest increase in offal prices — by 2.3%.
