Over four years, the volume of supplies of Russian products to African countries increased sevenfold - to 16.7 thousand tons. The driver of EXPORT growth was poultry MEAT . Its main markets are Benin and Ghana with shares of 49% and 10% respectively. Angola, Congo and Morocco account for 7% each. Agroexport analysts see the prerequisites for expanding sales of chicken and pork in Angola, beef and poultry meat in Ghana, beef, poultry meat and pork in the Republic of South Africa (RSA). To realize the export potential, it is necessary to enter the markets of Nigeria, Tunisia and South Africa, which are currently closed to Russian exporters of meat products.
To do this, it is necessary to intensify their participation in government tenders and expand the practice of using offset transactions. The total value of agricultural products that were exported to 43 African countries in 2022 was $4.7 billion, with $3.5 billion coming from wheat, $454 million from soybean oil , $314 million from sunflower oil, and $155 million from barley. The largest importer was Egypt (47%). It is followed by a significant margin by Algeria (15%), Libya (11%), Sudan (9%) and Kenya (4%).
