Young veterinarians began to be provided with housing in Yakutia

In October 2018, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin , following a working trip to the Stavropol Territory , instructed the government, together with the executive authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, to take systematic measures to attract specialists in the field of veterinary medicine to work in rural areas, to strengthen the material and technical base of veterinary services of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation Federation.

“An agreement has been reached with the Arctic State Agrotechnological University and the administrations of settlements in Yakutia on the provision of housing for university graduates who are employed as veterinary specialists. This is aimed at securing local personnel. Four people have already received housing. Next year we plan to introduce the same mechanism with graduates of the Yakut Agricultural Technical School.” , said Victor Semenov.

He clarified that such a measure would allow attracting up to 20 specialists to rural areas annually. “The industry employs 1.6 thousand employees, the average age of specialists is 43 years. The staffing level is 73%,” the agency’s interlocutor said.
