The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan commented on the information that Russian poultry MEAT producers have worsened problems with the purchase of hatching eggs. As previously reported by Kommersant, this was caused by new restrictions of the ROSSELKHOZNADZOR on the import of hatching eggs from a number of EU countries.
“Today, in the Republic of Tatarstan, all the necessary supplies for the purchase of sets of day-old chicks of the parental form for the production of hatching eggs of the final hybrid have already been contracted. And in 2022, there are no problems with the import of hatching eggs into the republic, ”the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan reported in response to a request from BUSINESS Online.
As of January 1, 2022, there were more than 17 million birds in farms of all categories in Tatarstan. In addition to the production of eggs and poultry meat, large poultry enterprises in the republic also have their own facilities for the production of hatching eggs. So, in 2021, more than 103 million 780 thousand hatching eggs were produced in the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan reported.
In Ak Bars Holding, which includes three poultry farms united in Ak Bars Poultry Complex LLC (Yaratel and two poultry farms in the villages of Osinovo and Pestretsy), they confirmed to us that they see no problems with the purchase of hatching eggs .
“Farms such as Chelny Broiler LLC (part of the Agrosila holding — author’s note) and Ak Bars Poultry Complex LLC have their own parent flocks and fully meet their needs for hatching eggs,” BUSINESS reported. Online" in the press service of "Ak Bars Holding". “The deficit is experienced by those farms that do not have their own parent stock.”
The company explained that in 2021, the surplus of hatching eggs in the amount of almost 2.4 million pieces by the enterprises of the holding were sold to other poultry enterprises and farms both in Tatarstan and abroad. As for the Yaratel poultry farm, which specializes in the production of chicken eggs, it purchases day old chickens from a supplier from the Ryazan region. “The contract was concluded for a year, deliveries are on schedule, there is no shortage of chickens. An agreement was reached on the increase in prices for day-old chicken from January 1, 2022,” the company explained.
“There is a problem [with a shortage of hatching eggs] in other regions, and we are constantly being asked to sell hatching eggs from neighboring regions,” Ak Bars Holding added.
Earlier, the federal media wrote that Russian poultry farms were faced with a shortage of hatching eggs, as the reason was the closure of the supply of products from a number of regions of Germany, the Netherlands and France by the Rosselkhoznadzor. Prices for hatching eggs exceeded 40 rubles per piece against the standard level of about 20 rubles. Experts believe that the shortage and rising cost of eggs may force some poultry farms to purchase products from unverified suppliers, which threatens to introduce diseases, reduce the safety of birds, and ultimately increase the cost of poultry production. As a result, the price of eggs and poultry meat on store shelves may rise.
