The Ministry of Agriculture reported an increase in poultry imports by almost 40% since the beginning of the year

At the meeting, the president noted the need to control prices for poultry MEAT and suggested that the government apply known measures, such as purchasing from close neighbors. In 2024 , a quota was introduced for duty-free import of 140 thousand tons of poultry meat, of which 75.3 thousand tons have been imported to date.

Compared to last year, the average price of chicken meat fell by 9.2% and amounted to 152.7 rubles per kilogram (excluding VAT). At the same time, average consumer prices for chilled and frozen chicken meat also fell by 7% over the same period. The Ministry of Agriculture noted that this year, producer prices are below last year's level, and wholesale prices remain stable.

To stimulate the development of poultry farming in RUSSIA, state support measures are provided, including preferential loans and partial compensation for the costs of construction and modernization of poultry facilities. As of November 1, 60 applications for preferential loans for the implementation of investment projects for the production of poultry meat in the amount of 0.9 billion rubles were approved. The total volume of the Russian poultry meat market in 2024 is expected to be 6.1 million tons.
