The new bill , published by the Ministry of Agriculture on the legal information website, involves changes in the approach to ensuring the safety of the pig population, taking into account the ASF situation . The document clarifies the procedure for conducting inspections to identify ASF at an enterprise and some other safety standards.

Thus, according to the new standards, it is planned to carry out sampling for ASF twice a year from the livestock of pig farms located in a zone of 5 km from enterprises with a high level of zoosanitary protection. For enterprises located in areas unaffected by ASF, the frequency of sampling will be different. In addition, samples are supposed to be taken once a year on all farms, regardless of their status.

The draft order also prohibits feeding pigs food waste and game caught in areas affected by ASF. A complete ban on wild boar hunting in areas unaffected by ASF is also being introduced. Finally, the draft order reduces the time it takes to stock pigs for farms operating indoors.
