"I asked him in Peter "Did you even eat potatoes?" - "Come on, I haven't had such delicious potatoes in a long time. Because they are sowing what in different countries now," summed up the president.
According to him, the quality of the Belarusian potatoes was appreciated not only by the Russian president.

"Everybody has already figured out that if someone wants to buy potatoes, especially
Russia, our post-Soviet republics (there was no happiness, but misfortune helped - the harvest failed somewhere), they understand that the best potatoes [we have], because we have always been engaged in potato farming," said Lukashenko.
The President got acquainted with the process of harvesting potatoes and was shown new varieties. The new potato basket, which does not even have a name yet, was handed over to the President for a trial.
"Without a name yet? You can't eat
it like that. It's a pity. One should sow on seeds," doubted the president. After hearing that he "should try it," he promised to cook and taste the same evening.
Lukashenko ordered to distribute the rest of the baskets with potatoes to the journalists of the presidential pool.
