“The country is faced with a situation where we annually import about 5 million sperm doses for dairy cattle , these sperm doses are used to fertilize appropriate animals. Or, to put it correctly, non-compliant animals in most cases, because this happens without genetic control. As a result we are seeing terrible inbreeding, <...> we are seeing a decrease in productive longevity in our cattle , which, of course, leads to the need to constantly import more and more new genetics. And all this happened because we did not have our own system. assessment, now we are creating it,” said Maxim Patrushev.

The HEAD of the genomic center predicted that the system will begin full operation in a year, but it is already producing the first results. 

“We now see the full picture of how our former partners were slightly disingenuous to us. In some cases, our current partners too,” added Maxim Patrushev.

The International Agricultural Congress Asiaexpo 2023 is being held for the first time; it began on Wednesday in the federal territory of Sirius.
