A Holstein cow was sold at an auction at the Chebomilk agricultural holding for 500 thousand rubles.

The auction featured breeding heifers, heifers and bulls of the Holstein breed, as well as Hereford bulls from different regions of RUSSIA.

The most expensive lot of the auction was a breeding heifer of the Holstein breed No. 232940 of a member of the Association Nekrasovo-1 LLC (Sverdlovsk region), sold for 500,000 rubles. with a starting price of 350,000 rubles.

Pedigree reproducer for breeding Holstein cattle, Nekrasovo-1 LLC, is one of the leaders in terms of average annual MILK productivity per cow in the Sverdlovsk region. At the end of 2023, productivity per cow was 12,208 kg, the number of dairy herds was 2,200 cows.

The goal of each farm is to genetically improve the herd due to the higher potential of sires, and only a few manage to produce offspring that surpass the breeding qualities of both parents. According to the results of genomic testing, heifer 232940 surpassed not only her mother in the NM index, but also her father, whose breeding value allowed him to be used for further bull production. Currently, 15 sons have been sired from the Last Dance bull abroad, of which only 3 have a higher NM index than that of the presented heifer.
