Konstantin Savenkov reported that on the Russian side, restrictions on the export of live animals were introduced based on information from the competent authority of Azerbaijan, indicating violations in the labeling of animals under the new legislation of the country.
“Rosselkhoznadzor carefully monitors compliance with requirements both when importing products into Russia and when exporting goods to other countries,” noted the Deputy Head.
The Russian side will conduct repeated inspections of sites that supplied live cattle to Azerbaijan . A clear mechanism for identifying animals according to the requirements of a foreign state will be agreed upon with enterprises.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached in the near future to work out the issue of resuming the export of live cattle, taking into account the norms of the legislation of Azerbaijan.
In addition, the parties discussed the work plan regarding animal identification for the next year. There are certain differences between countries regarding the requirements for identification tag forms. The competent authorities will carry out additional work on this issue.
The Azerbaijani side expressed gratitude to Rosselkhoznadzor for its close cooperation, including for the recent visit of the head of the department to Azerbaijan. In turn, Konstantin Savenkov emphasized that all agreements and intentions voiced at the negotiations between Sergei Dankvert and Goshgar Takhmazli will be implemented in full.
