Abi company discovered ASF in raw materials from the Kursk region

As reported in Abi, control activities were carried out on September 6. The ASF virus was detected in two trucks with MEAT from a pig farm in the Kursk region. Both trucks are isolated in premises more than 10 km from the plant, the raw materials are hermetically sealed and will be disposed of.
The company emphasized that contaminated meat was not supplied to production. However, the company, together with ROSSELKHOZNADZOR, conducted samples of raw materials at the enterprise and finished meat products. No traces of ASF were found in the samples, the report said. The trucks contained a small percentage of the supplied raw materials, Abi noted, so the rejection of the contaminated batch will not affect the production process, and meat products will be produced in the expected volume.
Analyzes of raw materials are carried out in the quality laboratory, which is part of Abi, the company explained. The laboratory tests not only meat, but also spices, FLOUR and other ingredients, as well as finished products, to ensure safe production. Thanks to the work of the laboratory and timely contact with Rosselkhoznadzor , the source of ASF was discovered and promptly localized.
