In Balykchy, with the support of the Kyrgyz-Russian Fund, the first broiler poultry farm in Kyrgyzstan was fully operational.

Today, a slaughterhouse was opened, where modern equipment is installed.

Askat Abdrakhmanov, the head of Agrokush LLC, said that the industrial complex includes a hatchery, a poultry farm and a slaughterhouse - 7,900 tons of poultry meat can be produced here annually.

"A week in the hatchery in the south-west of Balykchy, 55 thousand chickens appear, they are taken to the poultry farm in Sary-Kamysh. After 49 days of feeding, the weight of the bird reaches 3.5 kilograms. We also have a factory for the production of feed for chickens. In general, the enterprise employs 250 people. The facilities are located in different places due to biosecurity requirements," Abdrakhmanov said.

The total investment by the RKDF amounted to $3.5 million.

"The project is aimed at import substitution of poultry meat in the Kyrgyz Republic. In the future, the factory intends to cover up to 50 percent of the republic's needs for imports, or 22.5 thousand tons of poultry meat per year. Upon reaching the planned capacity of local production, the outflow of funds from Kyrgyzstan will be reduced by an estimated $11 million," the fund said.

It is noted that the poultry farm has introduced modern technologies that reduce the impact on the environment.
