ASF quarantine is installed on the May company's farm near Lipetsk

An outbreak of African swine fever was registered in the village of Vasilievka, located 27 kilometers from Lipetsk. The death of animals at the pig farm of LLC "May" occurred in the last ten days of October.

According to the decision of the head of the administration of the Lipetsk region Igor Artamonov, during the elimination of the epizootic focus of ASF, all the livestock of the farm and livestock products were destroyed before October 29. 

Depopulation of pigs in the territory of the Lipetsk region is carried out in the farms of four villages located within a radius of five kilometers: Aleksandrovka, Alekseevka, Vasilyevka and Ternovoye. Anti-epizootic measures are carried out by employees of the state veterinary service with the participation of personnel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Earlier, on December 16, ASF quarantine was introduced in the production area of ​​Yelets Meat Processing Plant LLC. A batch of butchered meat with the genetic material of the virus weighing 7934 kilograms arrived at the enterprise from the Belgorod region. All infected pork was promptly disposed of, after which the facility was disinfected.
