Karachay-Cherkessia plans to double the production of farm animals in the next 8 years

"Karachay-Cherkessia plans to double the number of farm animals over the next five to eight years, thereby increasing the production of high-quality organic MEAT by several times. We plan to achieve an increase in the number of sheep and goats, which now stands at 1.2 million heads, within the framework of the developed strategy development of sheep and goat breeding in the KChR until 2025, as well as through state support measures in the form of subsidies for financial support of part of the costs of production, acquisition, maintenance and support of livestock breeding," said Anzor Botashev, Minister of Agriculture of the KChR, following the results of the first day of the work of the Caucasian Investment exhibitions in Mineralnye Vody.

"According to preliminary data, lowering the criteria for a subsidy for reimbursement of part of the capital costs will allow more than 1.3 thousand farmers in the North Caucasus to qualify for support. In addition, the inclusion of feedlots in this measure will create additional incentives for the industrialization of meat sheep breeding. it is also necessary to work out the issue the possibility of fixing the subsidy rate per 1 kg to create sufficient incentives for farmers to come out of the shadows and the ability to predict their income and expenses, taking into account the subsidy," said Kamil Beksultanov, DIRECTOR of the department for the implementation of the state program for socio-economic development of the North Caucasus Federal District of the Ministry of Economic Development of RUSSIA  .
