Canada approves pork imports from three factories in Brazil

According to the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA), citing information provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, the first three pork processing plants in Brazil have received permission to EXPORT to CANADA.

The factories located in the state of Santa Catarina are owned by Seara Alimentos in Itapiranga and São Miguel do Oeste, and by the Aurora Central cooperative in Chapeco.

Brazil is the world's third largest exporter of pork (in 2021, the country exported 1.5 million tons of products). Canada is also an important buyer in the international market. The country imports an average of 250,000 tons per year.
