How agricultural start-ups from the Tomsk region succeed in animal husbandry

Examples of successful farm start-ups in the city of Strezhevoy were evaluated by Evgeny Bulkin, Acting Head of the Department for Socio-Economic Development of the Village of the Tomsk Region

Evgenia Bulkina visited the farm of Dmitry Lesovsky, who in May of this year won the regional Agrostartup competition and received a grant of three million rubles. 

The Agrostartup grant is one of the measures to support the national project "Small and Medium Enterprises" and is provided for those who are just starting their business in agriculture.

During the summer, the farmer ordered and partially paid for a fence for seasonal grazing of birds, cages and cage equipment. In particular, brooders for growing young animals bred in an incubator. In the near future, there are plans to install a bioseptic tank for wastewater treatment and a room for a smokehouse. It is planned to launch a new production in the fall.

At the moment, the farm has begun slaughtering quails, ducks and broilers for sale.

“All this was sold in our store before,” says Dmitry Lesovsky. — But in small quantities and from time to time. Now we are increasing volumes and moving to work on schedule. We plan to slaughter 300 broilers and 500 quails every twenty days. Both will be on sale all year round. But duck, including meat mulards, goose, turkey - seasonally, from September to December.

At the end of the project, by 2025, production in the farm will reach 18.56 tons per year.

Another enterprise in the visit schedule was the farm of the individual entrepreneur Alexei Boychenko - the only one in the northern capital of the region that specializes in the production and processing of meat and dairy products.

At the moment, the farm contains 1072 heads of cattle, including 527 cows and 205 pigs.

For the six months of 2021, milk production amounted to 1348 tons. The expected productivity for the year will be 5099 kg.

The farm has an equipped slaughterhouse and a cremator.

- In 2011, a milk processing plant was launched here. The enterprise daily produces up to 4 tons of dairy products of more than twenty items. These are butter, pasteurized milk 2.5%, 3.7%, cottage cheese, sour cream, kefir, yogurt, etc., which are supplied to social institutions and retail chains of the city of Strezhevoy and Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, - noted acting. The meat shop produces meat, minced meat, bacon, semi-finished products, dumplings (more than 10 types of products in total).

In 2020, 65 tons of meat products were produced in the amount of 15.8 million rubles.
