Patrick Brown, CEO of US company Impossible Foods, which develops plant-based meat substitutes, said plant-based meat will replace real meat in the near future. According to him, by 2035 no one will eat the meat of slaughtered animals.

“Our mission is to completely replace the use of animals as a food technology by 2035,” Brown said. "We're absolutely serious about this." While Impossible has been around since 2011, vegan and artificial products have skyrocketed in popularity recently.

White Castle, an American regional hamburger restaurant chain, included soy protein on its menus in 2018 and made it a permanent feature of its products. Burger King introduced their meatless burger in 2019. KFC also introduced plant-based chicken to its menu in 2022.

One reason the food industry is shifting to meat substitutes, at least in developed countries, is climate change. Impossible recently posted a blog post on its website about how much pollution farming and farm animals are doing, and used credible sources to back up their claims.

“The devastating impact of animal husbandry on the global environment far exceeds the impact of any other technology on Earth,” the report says. “The greenhouse gas footprint of animal husbandry rivals that of every car, truck, bus, ship, plane and rocket combined. Animal farming pollutes the environment and consumes more water than any industry.”

However, it must be said that the suggestion that farm animals contribute significantly to global warming is part of the propaganda that companies use for their own selfish purposes to take over the markets.

The earth has evolved with huge herds of migrating animals that improve the environment. Humans are the only environmental destroyers who destroy the natural cycles of nature. What needs to be changed is not the diet and not even the economy, which works great, but the psychology of the consumer society.
