From March to now, prices for day-old broiler chicks have gradually increased, reaching US $0.19 per chick in March, then rising to US$0.25 in April. The price has now increased to $0.50 per chicken, a more than eightfold increase from the start of the year.
The insider noted that the oversupply on the chicken market this year is estimated at 576 million. In this regard, many producers are taking measures to cull part of their livestock in order to avoid significant losses. According to him, this affects market prices, since the reduction in supply increases the cost of products.
Experts note that this increase in prices for day-old broiler chicks in Indonesia is associated not only with the current market situation, but also with factors including changes in consumer demand, production and transportation conditions, and external competition. Therefore, manufacturers are forced to constantly adapt to changing conditions to ensure efficient operations and minimize losses.
Thus, the dynamics of prices for day-old broiler chicks in Indonesia reflects the complex processes occurring in the poultry market and requiring careful analysis and operational decisions on the part of producers.
